Validation Errors

If you attempt to save a note that doesn't meet the requirements, you will see a validation error in red text next to that note.

Some notes may be dependant on others. In this example, if the patient is not a smoker, it is mandatory that the cigarette consumption option be left blank.

If you choose the "Never smoked" or "Past Smoker" option along with a value for cigarette consumption, and click on Update, you will see a pop-up message that says some fields need correcting.

When you click Ok the page will automatically scroll to the field that needs correcting and you will see an error message in red text.

Another trigger for validation error could be required fields. If the note has an asterisk (*) next to its name, it means that you must enter a data for it.

For boolean notes, "N/A" is equal to a blank value.

If a note has an asterisk (*) and gives N/A, "Yes" and "No" as options, you will have to choose either "Yes" or "No". If you set it to "N/A", it will give you an error.

If you want to make a note field compulsory, follow the instructions on Notes Management.
